WHO ARE THE CANDIDATES FOR EAR RECONSTRUCTION?
For anyone with a long ear shell, his/her ears can be a cause for dissatisfaction. Typically, these individuals may feel insecure for long periods of time.
HOW IS THE PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
Depending on the type of problem, the earlobe can be reduced by removing the skin of the ear with a hidden scar behind the earlobe or by cutting a wedge-shaped piece of earlobe tissue with a vertical scar on it. People with a deformed earlobe need to be wedged and sutured, in people with a congenitally long or large earlobe, the incision is hidden behind the ear.
RECOVERY TIME
The procedure of reducing the earlobe usually passes without significant discomfort. Analgesics are usually used for 1-2 days. It is also recommended to sleep with the headboard raised for 3 nights. The bandage is removed after 5-7 days, and the sutures after 2 weeks.
WHAT IF THERE IS A PREFERENCE TO KELOIDS?
All persons with a known tendency to form keloid scars, a method is implemented to reduce the risk of their occurrence.
