Eyelid tightening

Blepharoplasty is one of the most common aesthetic procedures in the world and in our country as well. This procedure removes excess skin or excess fat around the eyes, on the lower or upper eyelids, in order to rejuvenate and highlight the eyes, although often solving a health and functional problem. With blepharoplasty, the patient restores the full freshness of eyes with a natural look. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

Loosed eyelids give the face an older and tired look, which cannot be corrected with makeup. This problem is not necessarily related to aging – more often to genetic predispositions, lifestyle, collagen loss…

BLEPHAROPLASTY PROCEDURE

Most often performed under local anesthesia, blepharoplasty lasts 1-2 hours. Patient leave the clinic at the same day. A precise and thin incision is positioned in the crease of the eyelid and excess skin and adipose tissue are removed. The same procedure is performed on the lower eyelids through an incision along the line of the lower lashes.

If the lower eyelid has a pronounced under-eye area (fat pads) without excess skin, they can be removed by a procedure called transconjunctival blepharoplasty, when incisions are made inside the lower eyelid – on the conjunctiva, without cuts on the skin of the eyelid or scar.

RECOVERY

You can return to normal activities after 3-5 days after surgery. It is advisable to avoid hard physical activities for a few weeks after the operation, in order to speed up the end result.

Ask your surgeon to show you photos of patients. With a bad choice of doctor, you risk that the scar is not adequately positioned, that it is visible and conspicuous, the possibility of asymmetry of the eyes – which is solved only by a new operation, costs and reduces the possibility of the final good appearance.
