WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING SURGERY?
After reviewing and evaluating the change, Dr. Božović – Čelebić will apply local anesthesia to place where need to remove the change. Whether the change will be removed classically surgically or by radio waves, depends on the type and nature of the change, and it will be decided exclusively by your plastic surgeon who performs these interventions. If necessary, the removed change will be sent for a special microscopic – histopathological examination.
ARE THERE COMPLICATIONS?
This procedure is very low risk and has only a few accompanying complications. You can be convinced that you are in safe hands in terms of safety as well as aesthetic results, considering that all changes that require surgical intervention are dealt with by a plastic surgery specialist, whether they are benign changes, some of which are listed above or about malignant changes – tumors that require more radical surgery. From the aesthetic aspect, the plastic surgeon is again the right person who, after removing the change, will give the best result when it comes to the scar. This is especially important when it comes to minor or major changes in the face, as well as when the removal of some tumors requires minor or major reconstructive procedures.
Benign (benign) changes: Atheromas, fibroids, dermoid cysts, nevi, warts, papillomas, hemangiomas, etc.
Malignant tumors: Basal cell carcinomas, Squamous cell carcinomas, Melanomas.
Since UV radiation can cause malignant skin diseases, and we live in an area with many sunny days, the skin should be protected by wearing adequate clothing, using creams with a high UV protection factor and going to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon once a year. If it is deemed necessary to remove the change, be sure to contact a licensed plastic surgeon as soon as possible. Only in this way will you provide a safe and secure path to your health. Choose your doctor carefully.
